![]() In order to comply with Collin’s Law, The Ohio Anti-Hazing Act, Miami University has prepared the following report which lists all organization hazing violations from the past five years. Unfortunately, these reasons may be associated with serious misconduct (e.g., alcohol and hazing). Chapters and organizations lose recognition for a myriad of reasons. Our website lists any organizations that are currently suspended or not recognized by the University and/or their national organizations. Often recognition is revoked by both the University and the chapter’s national organization. ![]() On occasion the University revokes the recognition of a particular fraternity or sorority because it engaged in serious violations of University rules. Miami’s fraternities and sororities are local chapters of national organizations, and they are recognized as student organizations by the University. These organizations are recognized as groups that engage students in a co-curricular experience while also being held to high standards that promote student growth, accountability, and respect. Miami is home to over 600 student organizations, including more than 50 fraternities and sororities associated with a national social fraternity or sorority organization. We believe that membership in a student organization should provide students with a safe and productive learning environment that embodies Miami’s Code of Love and Honor.
